and then what happened

Dear friends,

I tell you what.  Three times I’ve sat down to write a blog post.  Three times I have been pulled away to do something else.  It will happen today, I swear it!  So much has gone on since my last blog post.  So much.  So I think I’ll just touch on a few of the main happenings and leave the detail up for another day.

Since my last posting:

My stove caught on fire.  Yep, heard a noise and opened the oven door to find it spraying out little flame jibbles much like one of those sparkler things kids play with on the 4th of July.  Needless to say, I was completely FREAKED OUT.    Replacement parts were ordered.  Many, MANY, arguments with Sears over the WRONG parts being sent.  The stove is now fixed, at least.  Though I am still waiting on the $200 refund on parts returned.  Tapping my fingers and waiting.  $200 is too much money to NOT care if it gets refunded or NOT.  Kwim?    I’m not whining but, that was my birthday money.  Please Sears, please send it back to me.  I sent your parts back, now you give back my money.  That IS how that is supposed to work.

My Gran broke her foot.  Not cool I say.  My Gran broke her foot on a Friday.  The hospital where she lives apparently doesn’t have doctors that can handle broken bones on duty on the weekend.  WTF?  I know Im not a medical professional, but ummm.. isn’t someone being able to deal with broken bones being on duty something EVERY emergency room should have?  Every day.  Even on the weekend?  Actually, isn’t being able to deal with common injuries like broken bones something every doctor (DR.) should kind of know how to do?  Again I say, WTF?  This isn’t some little po-dunk backwoods town either.    Her town is way bigger than our town.  And our doctors can set bones.  Even on the weekends!   This actually fires my ass and gets me on a rant, and just adds to the why I hate doctors bit.  Remember back in the day, when doctors actually CARED about people?  I can remember a doctor calling our house to check on me the day after I got stitches.  I was little.  2nd or 3rd grade, so its been a WHILE.  But doctors sure aren’t like that now.  Now it’s all about the mighty dollar.  What tests can we run, how much money can we get.  Assholes.

Speaking of doctors, I almost got sued this past week.  Which brings me to insurance companies, and again I say doctors now a days SUCK DONKEY BALLS.  You see, I’ve had some “issues” for quite some time and finally went to the dr over them a few months back.  The dr’s answer was “hmmm, I have no idea lets run some tests”  After being told insurance would cover the tests, because I ASKED this, I had tons of blood work, ultrasounds, etc…  What did we learn – NOTTA.  We still have no idea what is wrong with me.  What did the insurance company pay for these tests?  NOTTA!  Their reason – the tests were un-necessary.  So we have been going ‘round and ‘round with the insurance company AND the drs office trying to get them to pay this bill.   What did the dr’s office DO?  After 90 days they turned us over to their attorney for a law suit.  What did their lawyer say about all this?  “That is between you and the insurance company it, it has nothing to do with the dr’s office”  UMMM…  Long story short, we had to pay the entire bill within 20 days or be sued for the bill + court costs.  And what REALLY pisses me off…  this “insurance” is mandatory through my hub’s job.  We can’t opt out of it.  So they take the insurance out of his check, and there is nothing we can do about that.  Yet, the insurance is CRAP and doesn’t pay for CRAP. grrrr….

Did I mention this has been a pretty shit-tastic month?

Oh, and how could I forget TORNADOS!

On a good note though:

I got a j.o.b.   Yep, yours truly is now employed by a major card company.  I, needless to say, am happy.

To celebrate a little, my friend Mary and I took off yesterday and went craft shopping.  Nothing amazing was on sale at Joanns, but I did pick up a few things at Hobby Lobby.

I got

Unfortunately, I did not make it to Micheals to get my Tim Holtz fix.  :(  BUT, after we got LOST trying to get out of Steak and Shakes parking lot, (umm, yeah, you read that right. LOL)  well… It was getting late and we needed to head back to our little town. LOL!  2 taking up two lanes, lots and LOTS of laughs, and 1 u-turn later, we made it home safely.  I had so much fun shopping with my friend Mary, it was the perfect stress reliever. LOL….

ok, well, that’s been my week.  BAH.  Can’t wait for October to just be OVER.  Really, I can’t.  But other than that.  We’re all good. hahaha.

Here’s hoping your week is better than mine!  Many hugs, my friends!
