From the MailBag – Answering Reader Questions

Hi folks!

Just a quick post to answer some questions I found in my mailbag this past week.  If you have questions, or just want to chat or whatever feel free to send them to me via my mailbag.  mailbag at bunnycates dot com  I promise I will reply!  Just be aware I get TONS of spam and have recently installed a spam blocker thingy on the server, so if you mail me and don’t hear back within 4 or 5 days it probably got ate by the new software.  Feel free to send it again or hollar at me through somewhere else like Facebook, Twitter, or Goodreads.  Im pretty easy to find, my username EVERYWHERE is just BunnyCates.  Yep, Im soooo creative. LOL!!!

ok, on to reader mail:

Dana B. asks “I was watching your bookshelf tour and on several books you said you didn’t like them.  Why is do you still have it then?!  I’d give it away or toss it… you need more room, kwim?”

Are you trying to hint for me to start having GiveAWays?  lol

I do have several books I quit reading and kept, and I’ll tell you why.  I have found that sometimes not liking a book has more to do with what’s going on around you and not really what’s going on in the book.  Kids could be driving you crazy, stress at work, or even if its a pretty day and the books about winter…  I like to put the book away, and come back to it later and try again.  Sometimes is works, sometimes not.   But at least I gave it a go, ya know?

MelBell42 says: “Ive been following your blog as a digiscrapper for a long time and didnt realyze how much you read. Im a big reader too, of romance not your scary stuff, but I wondered how long you’ve been a reader?  Im just curious because I have never notice you mention it before…”

Kind of funny.  I got TWO emails kind of asking the same thing so…

I’ve actually had the reading section on my site off and on since like 2004-2005 but haven’t really gotten much traffic to it.  Actually, since like 2002, because I had a book review site on one of those FREE HOSTS like homepages.com or something like that.  Anyway… Now that I can focus on what I want and not the business (digiscrap) I have tons of time on my hands so I thought I would give the reading section on the site another go.  I get sad sometimes, thinking no-one else in the world is reading except me.  Luckily, I am gradually finding others like me who like to read, who read books, REAL “HOLD IN YOUR HAND” BOOKS so I think this section will be staying a while this time. 🙂

As for when did I start reading? hmm.  Is “always” an answer?  The first book I remember LOVING, I read when I was in like 6th grade maybe.  It was THE HOBBIT by JRR Tolkien.  I picked it up in the library at school, and ended up sitting down and reading it right there in the isle.  After I’d missed about my third class, they found me and I got into a LOT of trouble.  As best I can remember I even ended up grounded for an entire month.  Grounded.  For READING. haha.  I did read before that, because I can remember my favorite teacher Mrs Curtis taking books away from me in 4th grade because I wasn’t “old enough” to read that kind of book and handing me some crap like Charlottes Web.  I’m not saying Charlottes Web is a bad book. I’m just saying when you’d rather be reading about little girls getting drenched in pigs blood at the prom, well dear Charlottes web weaving spider just doesn’t cut it.  Man, I stayed mad at that woman!

ok, that is totally enough about ME this week.  Geeze, I’m going to get sick of myself.

ANYHOO…

oh, look what I got today, yay!

ok ok, I really am going.  Feel free to email, hollar, poke, tweet me.  I’m around.
