Synopsis:
Scarlett March lives to hunt the Fenris– the werewolves that took her eye when she was defending her sister Rosie from a brutal attack. Armed with a razor-sharp hatchet and blood-red cloak, Scarlett is an expert at luring and slaying the wolves. She’s determined to protect other young girls from a grisly death, and her raging heart will not rest until every single wolf is dead.

Rosie March once felt her bond with her sister was unbreakable. Owing Scarlett her life, Rosie hunts fiercely alongside her. Now Rosie dreams of a life beyond the wolves and finds herself drawn to Silas, a young woodsman who is deadly with an ax– but loving him means betraying her sister and has the potential to destroy all they’ve worked for.

Twenty-five-year-old Jackson Pearce delivers a dark, taut fairy tale with heart-pounding action, fierce sisterly love, and a romance that will leave readers breathless.

My Thoughts:

I was so excited to finally get a copy of this (my reading updates on goodreads)!  I ordered it, and only AFTER did I realized that I had ordered from a shop in the UK. It took for EVER to finally show up!  The cover jacket was all beat up and ripped, but it’s here…so I don’t care.  Someone wrote all in it with pencil!  It’s here now though.  That’s all that matters.  LOL…

I loved the take on Little Red Riding hood.  It was so different, and original.  I loved that the girls kicked butt!

I thought Scarlet was a little “hard” and maybe even selfish, so she kind of got on my nerves. BUT, she kicked the best butt so I could totally look past it. LOL!!  Really though, I mean, I think we all would be a little jaded and “hell bent” if we’d been attacked.  Don’t you?

I could have done without the romance, but I understand that the romance was half of the storyline, so it kind of had to be there.  Without it, I don’t think we could have gotten to “know” Silas as well.  Plus there would be no conflict, so yeah, necessary.  I did like him.  Even though what he told Scarlet (NO SPOILERS FROM ME!) was kind of douchey.  Men. hmph…  I kept biting my fingernails expecting him to be killed off at any second!

Even with those two “issues” I still loved this book, and plan on reading it again.  Yea, I liked it THAT much.

PS: I think Jackson Pearce is funny and amazing.  If you haven’t checked out her YOUTUBE you should totally give it a glance.  =)
