Its a Company thang
This years company picnic for Mr C’s j-o-b was at Holiday World again. It doesn’t hurt that the people that own my Mr’s work – are siblings to the people that own Holiday World. lol. The kids love the company picnic. Me, not so much. It was hot as Hades out there this year. I love that Holiday World has free sunscreen and free drinks. Unfortunately, their sunscreen is more like sun attractant. All of us that used the sunscreen got FRIED. Mr C, did not. Did not use it. Did not get burnt. *&^%
As always, we let each kid invite a friend for the trip. Sis invited her bestie #1. Brand invited Sis’s bestie #2. uhhh…
hmmmmmm…
The girls had me make them some late night Gooey Butter Cake, since Harm was telling them how AWESOME it was and they had never had it.
And of course, once they loaded up on all that sugar, it was darn near impossible to get them to go to sleep. haha…
The girls finally passed out on the hide-a-bed around 2am.
Then of course getting them up at 6 for the drive to Santa Claus, Indiana… that was a chore. haha
They did eventually get up, and on the road we were…
4 hours later… we’d “reached our destination baby… yeah!” <- Our TomTom sounds like Austin Powers. haha
(Halloween Halloween, this is Halloween…)
The kids took a trip on the Swings and the first rollercoster, ASAP (well, as ASAP as standing in line for an hour can be…)
and then it was time to head to the company picnic thingy for the prize drawings and some food.
after we ate, and they held the drawing (we didn’t win anything this year… they said they had over 800 entries this year, boooooo) we plotted out our plan of attack
The kids spent the rest of the day riding rides and swimming at the water park. Admittedly, the majority of the day was spent standing in line. Again, I have to say… BOOOOOOO….
you know what? Only in the souf would you go to a theme park with 10’s of thousands of people – and bump into your own dang cousin… “Cousin!”
after about 12 hours at Holiday World we were ALL ready to come home. It was SO hot.. omgosh.
a lovely ending to a long long LONG day…
