Synopsis:
A new shonen sensation in Japan, this series features Monkey D. Luffy, whose main ambition is to become a pirate. My Thoughts:
One Piece alone is an awesome manga, in my opinion.
I’d have to say my favorite characters are Zoro and Shanks. Zoro being the swordsman with the Green Hair, and Shanks who happens to be Luffy’s role model.
Luffy himself is a magnificent character. Seeing how he seems like a goofball you would think he’d be like the comic relief, but he really steps it up when he fights, especially when he uses his Gear Forms.
Whether Luffy is sleeping in a barrel or fighting enemy pirates, it is a story to enjoy. My favorite parts of Volume One where the first few moments when Luffy was on that luxury cruise ship. Coby actually learns to stand up for himself which is great though he is still a coward. All is good. Except the Marines.
This is a very good manga, and a popular one at that. I really recommend this one to those who are just starting to read manga.
