Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Readathon- Read it before you watch it tour!
PPZ Readalong/Readathon Thingy
The good people over at Quirk Books messaged me a while back and asked me if I would like to be a part of the two week READATHON celebrating the movie release Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith. I was all like, “Uhh, YEAH!” As if?! So they sent me a lovely copy of with the movie tie in cover. *LOVE*.
If you aren’t familiar with the book or movie, its… well, it is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, just…with zombies and bad assery and stuff.
Here is a snip-it of the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies movie trailer.
Yep, bad-assery!
I can’t wait to see how they tie the Black Plague in with the start of the zombie apocalypse. I’m a huge fan of the Walking Dead, and the science of it…is the one thing I am waiting for the most on that show. Its that thing that is “missing”. I need to know how/why. Using a plague to introduce the zombies is going to be AWESOME! Well, I mean the plague was a horrible thing, but in the movie it will be awesome. Not saying the plague will be awesome. Saying having an answer will be awesome. *sigh* You know what I’m saying, stop.
Anyway, lets talk about the cover change for a second. I loved the first cover, for its – well- gore. I didn’t think I was going to like the movie tie in cover, at all, but here it is, and I it is really pretty. I can’t decide which one I like better.
In addition to the cover change, the new release also has a bunch of stills and stuff in it from the movie. Which is always a big bonus. I think if I had to choose which one to get now, I’d go with the movie tie in cover, just because it has the bonus material. I say that, but everytime I go to put the older cover in my “Giveaway Box” I can’t, and end up putting it back on the shelf. #ImSuchABookHoarder

Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead.
