REVIEW: Shen Min Vitamins for Hair ReGrowth

Hi there!  I wanted to hop on real quick and tell you all about something fantastic I found last week!

If you are my friend on facebook, you’ve probably seen me complain about how bad my hair is falling out since I got anemia.  I’m talking like HANDFULS at a time.  It’s really kind of scary, I mean how long can I keep losing hair like that until I have no hair left to lose?! Right?!

Anyway, after talking to a few docs, and doing some online research it seems that hair loss is common in women of a certain age “going through THE change”, after having kids, or other medical conditions.  So I guess I am one of these lucky folks. BLUH.

Anyway, I googled and googled and googled, and found these vitamins!  They are called SHEN MIN.  On the site I was reading there were like 3000 reviews and NONE of them were under 4 stars, and the ones that WERE 4 stars said things like “I quit taking them and my hair started to fall out again”.  In my mind I was thinking well DUH. lol…   I figured all those reviews, something had to be to this, so I ordered me some.  And I wanted to tell you about them!

So this is a review for an “at home treatment” for “hair loss” via vitamin supplements.

About Shen Min:

Shen Min (meaning “Life/Vitality” in Chinese) is a 100% natural hair nutrient derived from the eastern wild rose, also known as He Shou Wu. It is best known for its ability to stimulate hair growth and restore graying hair to its original color.

Features

While the exact mechanism is still unknown, Shen Min seems to extend the growth phase of the hair follicle, thus reducing the number of hairs in the resting phase and fall out phase. My Thoughts:

I will start by saying the negatives first.  The only bad thing I can say is these pills are huge.  Here is a photo for scale.  Those squares are half in squares.  That means this pill is nearly an inch long and half inch wide.  They are not coated either, so they are the chalky kind of pill.  For me, personally, they tend to hang in my throat and I literally have to drink an ENTIRE glass of water or juice to get it down. And then my throat burns for about an hour afterwards.  I am not sure if this is from the pill being so big, or that it has pepper in it.

Positives:

It has only been THREE days and I can already tell a difference in the amount of hair in the brush at the end of the day.  Also, this morning (today is day 4) when I took out my hair scrunchy – normally there is a huge wad of hair wrapped around it.  Today there were two, yes, TWO hairs!  I can’t tell you how happy I am.  My husband is excited too because he is constantly finding my hair on his clothes, all over the car seats, etc.  I swear, I’ve been shedding like a dog!

Not only that but look at my nails! OMGosh!!!

I have NEVER had good nails!  NEVER!  Not even when I was on prenatal vitamins!  My nails are always very thin (almost see through) and peel off in layers as soon as there is ANY of the white tip part!  This pic was taken about 10 minutes ago.  So in 3 days, these vitamins have taken my nails from thin see through to opaque white, and I can tap tap tap on the table and they dont bend (like normal) and they even make that loud tap that says “Im not going to break woman!”  YAY ME!

Anyway, I wanted to share my results already.  3 days and I totally do not regret my purchase!

I just thought I would update on this. Mr C asked me today if I’d started showering in the back bathroom. Because he hasn’t had to clean the drain ANY this past week. I’d say they are DEFINITELY working. =D
