So last week over on the collab channel I am a part of, our topic was “Tips for new book reviewers/ booktubers”… I thought I would share my video with you here, since I get lots of questions about how to get into reviewing. Ok, mostly I just get asked how to get free books *eye roll* …
LOL.
Anywhoo, here’s my tips for new people video. Feel free to leave me a comment or head over and subscribe to our new collab channel.
=)
Hi you guys! Happy Friday!
Our topic this week was "Tips for new reviewers/booktubers" So, here’s me…rambling on with some tips. I had to cut out so much stuff out of this video to get it to fit under the 15 minute upload limit, omgosh. I think I might have to post some of the info I had to cut out over on my own channel. http://youtube.com/BunnyCates
Anyway, I mentioned the CHAPTERCHICKS with regards to ARCs so go check out their video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwSZOoauQCQ
I hope you find this weeks topic useful in some way. Please feel free to comment below with your own tips or even make a video response! If you have any questions, let me know.
Thanks for watching! Cya!

I am curious if you think it’s necessary to do videos to have a successful book blog? I just started my book blog a couple months ago and I have never thought about doing videos…is it something I should look into?
@Shelly Greninger, its not necessary. BUT – I have to say I love having “met” a lot of the people that I have in the “booktube” community. Its great knowing I am not ALONE in enjoying reading etc. Booktube is a great “tool” for book bloggers as far as keeping up with the new releases and trends etc (Im talking about just watching), but you dont have to make the video if you dont want.
I really would appreciate it if you could check out my new channel! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DY_c93tsaqY thanks!
I just love your video on the tips for book reviewers/booktubers. I have been maintaining a book blog for over a year and a half now and about four or five months ago, I discovered this whole new world of “booktubing” on youtube that I cannot believe that I didn’t already know about. I’ve been sort of wanting to branch out a little bit more into the booktubing community, however, I have found it to be somewhat daunting in the sense that it’s easier for me to sit down and write out an actual book blog entry, than it is to actually sit down and record a video and then upload it to youtube. I know that might sound a little weird, but I tend to space a little bit or somehow hiccup in little ways that make me feel a bit insecure when it comes into stepping out into that wonderfully vast and imaginative community of seasoned booktubers.
Through your video, you have sort of inspired me to really start thinking about it more and to actually start out booktubing for maybe two or three days out of the week, until I can gradually build it up a little bit more in conjunction with still maintaining my blog. I think I’m probably going to start off with some relatively easy features like Tuesday is TBR (where, I would feature a few different books to be read for the month on the first Tuesday of the month and then do the wrap-up the last Tuesday of the month), Book Bites (which would be discussion vlogs on various topics), and Book Gossip for the Soul (which, is my monthly book hauls) and maybe a couple of reviews here and there. Series of the Month, would be a good feature too, because I could even talk about each of the books in the series that I’ve read (that I’m maybe trying to catch up with or following along with).
I don’t know what possessed me to tell you all of this, but you just seemed so nice and so personable in your video, that I guess it just made it so incredibly easy to just talk to you. You had some really great advice that you shared there and I really liked the way that you came across as extremely helpful and very nice. There was something about you, that just sort of inspired me. 🙂
Aww! THANK YOU! Your comment totally made my day!
Booktubing and Book Blogging kind of go hand in hand to support each other, so I know YOU CAN DO IT!
Thanks for stopping by (and commenting!)
