busy week ahead
Happy Saturday friends!
Just wanted to drop a note and say Hi-dee-ho! LOL!
Meant to blog yesterday, but ended up going to Auntie’s house to cook dinner and put up her Christmas tree! weeee! The conversation went something like this…
her: “I was thinking I would buy some frozen lasagna and y’all could come up for dinner.”
me: “umm, Im not driving an hour for frozen lasagna.”
her: “ but I was hoping you would bring the kids and they could help put up my tree…”
me: “CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!!! OK! But um, Im not eating frozen lasagna.”
lol.. Yes friends, rather than eat “frozen” lasagna, I bought groceries and drove an hour, to cook supper. LOL. Oh well, I had a great time. I really enjoy cooking. REALLY. I enjoy cooking for “several” people even more! I’m weird like that. In the photos Im SMILING. I don’t SMILE. In PHOTOS. I give the finger! LOL
The kids had fun too…
great family night. Got home late and passed out.
Today, I have been planning out our menu for the week, decided what we’ll be eating and making out my grocery list. PHEW, it’s going to be a long week! I was really hoping since we weren’t having company this Thanksgiving, that I would be able to just relax. Assumed, yea-you know what they say… lol!
Our menu for the week ended up like this:
- SATURDAY oven fried chicken tonight
this will be oven friend chicken, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, salad - SUNDAY hoagies sunday – yay! (no leftovers!)
hoagies and chips - MONDAY burgers/fries monday (no leftovers!)
- TUESDAY pizza tues (no leftovers!)
- WEDNESDAY breakfast for dinner wed (no leftovers!)
this will be bacon, eggs, biscuits - THANKSGIVING thursday (will have tons of leftovers)
- FRIDAY leftovers Friday (use leftovers)
- SATURDAY Cheesy ham/macaroni casserole Sat (use leftovers)
Surprisingly, my grocery list is NOT as long as it usually is. HMMM. Wonder what we’re forgetting. lol…
What are you plans for the week? I really wanted an easy week since Wed/Thursday will be such heavy cooking days getting everything going for ThanksGiving.
I was kind of shocked, no one wants Turkey this year. OR Pumpkin pie! I mean, I am more than happy to NOT cook a turkey. Turkey is my least favorite thing to cook and over half ends up in the trash, we just dont use the leftovers as much as we do ham.
Our Thanksgiving menu is looking like this, right now. It is subject to change. LOL!
- ham
- mashed potatoes
- gravy
- baked beans
- rolls
- deviled eggs
- candied yams
- mac n cheese
- salad
- ugly snowman cheeseball {will post the recipe later this week}
- chocolate chess pie
- cherry pie
I got some scrapping and crafting done this week, will post them on the “creative” section a little later today.
Have a great weekend!!!!!!!!
