THREE THINGS: DEC 1 2011

I’ve been seeing these “3 Things” posts all over the net the last week or so, so I thought I would chime in and share some things I’m loving this week!  I didn’t want to JUST do “craft” supplies though, because that’s not all I am about!  So for my 3 Things, I’m sharing 3 that genuinely are making my life better.  =D 1. My Dad OMGosh, mooshfest – right?   LOL.  Sorry, but it’s true.  My Dad is much on my mind this week since I’ll be driving up…

Thankful for…. 1

Tonight as I sit here thinking about Thanksgiving and family, after a day when I learn that one of my childhood friends lost her brother yesterday in a horrific accident, I feel both terribly sad and incredibly blessed. On this, the first day of November, first day of the month in which we celebrate all things to be thankful for… I am thankful that my family are here with me, healthy and happy (well, as happy as any “normal” family can be).

November Bookmark

And my November book mark, for my Year of Books project… Isn’t it cute?!  Kim sent this funny owl pic to me, and I just thought it was hilarious!  I knew I had to make it into a bookmark (and I made it a wallpaper for my desktop!) Basically, I just stuck the owl on the top of the book mark, and added my text.  Then I printed it out on white cardstock, and embossed the decal on the bottom.   I inked it all up with Distress ink.  I put…

October Bookmark

Here is the October edition for my Year of Books project. I was inspired by the Spiderwick Chronicles.  The fae, I found online and is a deep forest sprite from Arthur Spiderwick’s Guide to the Fantastical World Around You.  I just sized it up in paint shop pro, and added the quote and printed it out.  Then I inked it up with Pink Pirouette from Stampin’ Up! and Distress Antique Linen.  I used a zig emboss writer to highlight some of the fae and embossed with iridescent ice from Stampin’…

Card Sketch – October 2011

I posted a Card Sketch Challenge in the DSO Facebook Group this month.  Next month I’ll be posting it on the new forum here on bunnycates.com.   The sketch was pretty simple.  In my head, I saw the top base with a rounded edge and the bottom base squared.  In reality, I really struggled with what paper to use for this type of design.  This is what I came up with:   For supplies: Aqua cardstock – don’t know the brand, was sent to me as a RAK by Laura…

MEAL PLAN MONDAY: OCT 24 2011

Do you plan your weeks cooking ahead of time?  I do.  On Sunday morning I sit down in my office and I plan out what we are going to eat all week. Meal planning for me, really, is pretty easy.  My Mr. works a weird shift at work that rotates so he is only home for dinner a few nights per week.  Those nights I try to cook a NICE meal with the trimmings.  I mean, he works hard and he deserves it. On the nights Mr. C isn’t home,…
