Wishlisting this Wednesday – Nov 16, 2011

Happy Wednesday! Just thought I would feature a few books I’m wanting right now… Even though I don’t have the cash to run out and buy right now, it’s still super fun to look at em and drool! =D The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman Elizabeth has a new job at an unusual library? a lending library of objects, not books. In a secret room in the basement lies the Grimm Collection. That?s where the librarians lock away powerful items straight out of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales: seven-league boots,…

Reading Wrap Up – October 2011

I didn’t get through a ton of books in October. It’s such a busy month for us, with birthdays and Halloween.  There just never seems to be enough hours in the day during this time of year. I did manage to get through three though.    Dracula in Love by Karen Essex In this wonderfully transporting novel, award-winning author Karen Essex turns a timeless classic inside out, spinning a haunting, erotic, and suspenseful story of eternal love and possession. From the shadowy banks of the river Thames to…

Thankful for…. 1

Tonight as I sit here thinking about Thanksgiving and family, after a day when I learn that one of my childhood friends lost her brother yesterday in a horrific accident, I feel both terribly sad and incredibly blessed. On this, the first day of November, first day of the month in which we celebrate all things to be thankful for… I am thankful that my family are here with me, healthy and happy (well, as happy as any “normal” family can be).

November Bookmark

And my November book mark, for my Year of Books project… Isn’t it cute?!  Kim sent this funny owl pic to me, and I just thought it was hilarious!  I knew I had to make it into a bookmark (and I made it a wallpaper for my desktop!) Basically, I just stuck the owl on the top of the book mark, and added my text.  Then I printed it out on white cardstock, and embossed the decal on the bottom.   I inked it all up with Distress ink.  I put…

October Bookmark

Here is the October edition for my Year of Books project. I was inspired by the Spiderwick Chronicles.  The fae, I found online and is a deep forest sprite from Arthur Spiderwick’s Guide to the Fantastical World Around You.  I just sized it up in paint shop pro, and added the quote and printed it out.  Then I inked it up with Pink Pirouette from Stampin’ Up! and Distress Antique Linen.  I used a zig emboss writer to highlight some of the fae and embossed with iridescent ice from Stampin’…

Card Sketch – October 2011

I posted a Card Sketch Challenge in the DSO Facebook Group this month.  Next month I’ll be posting it on the new forum here on bunnycates.com.   The sketch was pretty simple.  In my head, I saw the top base with a rounded edge and the bottom base squared.  In reality, I really struggled with what paper to use for this type of design.  This is what I came up with:   For supplies: Aqua cardstock – don’t know the brand, was sent to me as a RAK by Laura…
