Christmas with the Cates

Hi friends!

This is just a catching up post. LOL!  Someday, I will get my life on some kind of schedule that WORKS and then I wont change a THING so it KEEPS ON WORKING!  Someday I will.  SOMEDAY.  I swear it!  haha!

 

I really thought this year was going to suck.  First, no one was coming in AND the hubs had to work Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day.  So I was thinking it was just going to be me and the kids.  Dad usually comes in from Chicago, and he and Granny sleep over here on Christmas Eve.  Usually.  Dad wasn’t feeling well this year though.  I decided I would go get my Gran and it would just have to be just her and me and the kids this year. 🙁

I got a small ham, and picked up a few things to cook.  Thinking no one would be here.  But guess what!  My dad made it in, and my brothers who I only see once say every 5-6 YEARS came in!  And my sister stopped by!  It was Christmas.  A REAL Christmas!  Complete with family and SNOW!!!

Well, that was pretty much it.  Christmas that was looking like it was just going to be me and the kids ended up including:  My dad, both my brothers, Phillips family, my gran, My sister and her family, AND Darrin even got Christmas Eve off!   Family time, the one time of year I consider it tolerable.  The best Christmas present I could have gotten.
