the day that just kept going and going and

OMW! Yesterday was such a LONG day! I swear I was starting to think it was NEVER going to end! But, I lived! yahoo!

HAPPY FRIDAY!

So, what all’s went down this week? Well…we had a huge milestone or TEN in this house this week. Someone turned the big ONE OH! Thats right friends. Bug had a birthday! Tons of photos to follow, enjoy!

“Sis do you want AN ICECREAM CAKE from Dairy Queen this year?!” *fingers secretly crossed behind my back*
”NO MAMA! Those aren’t made with LOVE!”
*sigh* “ok. You’re right. what do you want on your cake this year?” *me with sad face* LOL!

I was only pushing for the DQ cake because every year Monk gets just a tiny bit more elaborate in what kind of cake she wants. Now, I love to cook. I love to bake, too. But cake decorating is so NOT part of my “skill set”. LOL!!!

“Chocolate squishy cake. Round. Two layers, with purple icing. Oh, and some of the purple icing MUST be in the middle.”

So I spent Wednesday night making this guy…

The cake is homemade but not from scratch, its Devils Food Cake. The icing: the purple is home made Cream Cheese frosting. The pink is home made Butter Cream frosting. I’m very pleased with myself. It’s the first time I have piped icing that turned out worth a CRAP! YAY ME!

Sis got tons for BDay wishes on her facebook and in my email. So big THANK YOU to everyone who tried to contact her for bday wishes!

We headed out shopping at like 9 yesterday morning, and didn’t stop until like 9 last night. I swear I was so tired, AND THEN I still had to clean out the “spare room” for our new baby! Yes you read that right! Sis took some of her bday money and bought us a new baby!

I don’t know if you remember but we lost our dear Samual and Sara in the big ice storm we had. So Sis thought we had mourned for long enough, and we spent the better part of an hour inspecting EVERY SINGLE CONTAINER of beta’s they had to offer. Literally. Every. Single. One. This little guy stole monkey’s heart, his little bowl was so cloudy and filthy. He was barely moving. Actually, ALL of them looked pretty rough (Wal-Mart really shouldn’t sell live pets.) But I let her have her pick. She informed me while examining him in the car that his name will hence forth be known as “Fishelstien”. I laughed and said “Yea, because I can absolutely spell that.” roflmao! Anyhoo, the last thing I did last night was super clean the old fish bowls we had, scrubbed all the rocks and plants etc and pop him in. He must have been really dirty because this morning his new bowl is already cloudy! Too bad you cant scrub a fish! haha!

So we brought Fishelstien back home and headed back out! Lots of stores, lots of shopping, lots of giggling! We had a blast. We came back home for lunch…

Got dressed up, and headed out for Sis’s annual BIRTHDAY PICS.

and because she was missin’ Mrs. Mel, she just HAD to pick the “nose tree” while we were there! LOL

Anyhoo, after pics we came back home. Changed clothes AGAIN and went to see MEGAMIND…

the movie was SO funny. And every time a little rock would come on Sis just head banged and air guitared along…. squeeling “this is on GUITAR HERO!” lol! There were only 2 other people in the theater besides us (we were at the matinee) so we were ALL so loud. Laughing, rocking out, chowing on some popcorn… It was fun!

Then we came on back here, grabbed up “daddy” and headed off to Applebees so Darrin could celebrate Veterans day with a FREE steak. 🙂

Then BACK HOME to have some cake and head to bed.
