Current Services Available

Publicity

Social Media Manager – *NEWEST SERVICE* (this is the service I am MOST EXCITED about!!!)

• Maintain social media account(s)
• Schedule and Post Tweets
• Follower Engagement (welcoming new followers, replying to messages, tweets/posts, etc)

Social media has become the way most authors “connect” with their fans.  It is the quickest and easiest way for them to contact you and to rave about your work!  Even though we KNOW that having a strong online presence WILL boost sales (more proof here and here), not everyone has time to monitor for “mentions” of their name and books or to sit down and reply to all the tweets. For a flat monthly fee I will manage your social media outlets (facebook, twitter, instagram, youtube, LinkedIn, and/or G+) for you! This includes: Updating at least one *NEW* post per day on each of your services, replying to questions and comments in a timely manner, thanking new “subscribers” and “followers”, thanking bloggers who mention you in their posts, and promoting your books in a non-annoying effective manner.   This service is currently $50 per month, that is less than $1.75 per day!

General Publicity Management – (this service replaces the “Buzz Builder” service we ran through indie-assist.com).

The “Publicity Manager” service starts at $30 per month. This is per author not per book. This is the price most authors will pay. Of course, an author with 10 books will be more work than one with 4 so if you had/put out more than 10 books, we will need to raise the price a little. What is included: I will handle all of the review copy request inquiries for you. This means handling your request emails, checking out their blogs etc to see if they would be “worth” the review copy. This takes the headache out of trying to decide if that reviewer would be a waste of time or not, etc. The book also gets pitched to all our guest reviewers and listed on our site for as long as you pay your monthly fee. Even if you run out of review copies for one title.  So basically, you’re paying one fee and in return getting two services: me handling the review requests for you AND an advertisement spot on our site. Not to mention it looks more “professional” if on your site or blog you say “For review copy requests please contact my marketing assistant” or “my publicist” or however you want to word it.  We are book bloggers as well, and have many friends in the reviewer/blogger/vlogger community. “Word of mouth” or “Buzz” will sell your book faster than any other advertising!  Plus I promote these available books through my own personal social networking too. Which is how I can find a few reviewers for you. Also included in the service.

Indie Pinch Feature of the Week 

• Site wide sidebar ad for 7-days
• Blog post featuring the book

The Indie Pinch is a new addition here at WeAreWordNerds. The Indie Pinch is featured on our sidebar for one week, and also receives a write up post on our site. In order to be eligible for the Indie Pinch post of the week, the title must be less than $5 during the week of promotion. The title must have at a minimum of a 3-star rating, and at least TWO reviews on Amazon. The cost of this service is $15. This includes sidebar feature, and featured Pinch write up.

Media

Media/Press Kits

• ZIP file containing PDF and JPG files.
• Author photo retouching, if needed
• Hosting the file (optional)
• HTML coding to add the file to your blog or website
• Updates and additions at a discounted rate

Every author needs a media kit. Publishers are providing fewer and fewer services to their authors and as an Independent Author, all of your press and marketing are going to have to be handled by you. Media Kits are a great way to have professional marketing information on hand to give to advertisers, potential agents, and publishing houses. It not only makes things easier on you, the author, in the long run but it looks very professional as well.

This service starts $75, that includes compiling and formatting the media kit, and packaging for distribution. I can also retouch those Author Headshots for you!! *for an additional fee, we can host the kit for you! As long as we are hosting the file, minor updates can be done at a discounted rate!

Press Releases

• Compiling and formatting the press release
• Print quality PDF

Our BASIC PRESS RELEASE SERVICE is available for $50. This includes: Compiling and formatting your press release. You will receive a print quality PDF file, which you can then email, fax, or print to distribute. *For an additional fee, we can distribute this release to various sources in your area.

Editing

Query Letter Critique

Query letters are daunting. I will work with you to help you get the best letter we can for your book. The fee for this service is $20.

Beta Read

I would love to read your project and give you my thoughts! I know, I know. You are thinking “Really? BETA READING is a PREMIUM service? There are a thousand people out there who will do it for FREE!” You’re right, there are. Here is the thing, I am busy. I have a ton of PUBLISHED books to read. EDITED. PUBLISHED. AMAZING. Books! These books were all sent to me for my thoughts on them and to share my thoughts on them with my friends. If I am sitting here reading your “in progress” work, helping you tweak it up… I am not taking care of those review copies, now am I? Of course I want to get paid for my time. Come on now. I currently charge $50 per project. This includes: light editing, story suggestions, plotline points (looking for holes and unresolved questions), and marketing ideas. *Before ordering, please be aware: I do not hold a degree in English Literature. I am just an avid reader, with an eye for detail. Though I can, and often do, find grammatical errors; I have no formal secondary education in the field. I am currently enrolled in an English degree program, but do not yet hold a degree. 🙂

For some people a blog is enough and they don’t require a full website. “My blog would be fine, I just wish I could make it look better.” “I would love to do THAT on my blog, but I can’t figure out how to do that!” Does this sound like YOU? We can help take your blog from “blah” to “Totally Professional!” Cost of Service: Varies, but the normal price range is around $125. That includes theme, setting up your “pages”, and “widgets”. Every blog is different, and we’ll work with you to get you the blog you WANT.

Blogger to WordPress Migration

Need help moving your blog from blogger to wordpress?

• Migration of old posts to wordpress
• SEO optimization for the latest 10 posts and most popular 5 posts

• Dead link check and repair for the latest 10 posts and most popular 5 posts

Cost of Service: Varies, but the normal price range is around $150. That includes migrating the old posts and optimizing them for your new blog.  Price varies because some blogs are bigger than others. *This service is only available for SELF-HOSTED WORDPRESS.

WordPress Maintenance

Cost of Service:  $35 per month (3-month minimum).
Must be paid in advance in either 3-month, 6-month, or Yearly increments

Website Design

Realizing that you just can’t do everything you WANT to do, on blogger? Sounds like it is time to consider getting your own WEBSITE. Cost of Service: Website design costs vary per project. The basic site (which includes 1 yr hosting, domain name, blog installation and set up, and 1 page) start at $750. Wanting a more accurate price quote? Cover Design

I am not accepting new cover clients at this time. Having an attractive book cover can be the deciding factor between sales and no sales. A reader may have never heard of you or book before, but a lovely cover can entice them to pick it up and see what it is about. The cover not only attracts the reader, but it sets the tone for the story. It lets the reader know what can be expected from the pages inside. Cost of Service: Cost of the cover design service varies per project. Most cover designs average between $100-$250 for a basic cover image graphic with title text.

Web Design (themes)

Custom Blog themes start at $100.

Photography

Need a headshot but hate dealing with high pressure sales photographers? We are more then happy to work with you! We have a photographer located in Western Kentucky and one near Chicago Illinois in the Coal City area. Our Headshot Service includes the photography and any photo retouching that would be needed to make you look your best! Cost of Service: Photo session prices vary depending on travel requirements, etc. Please contact for more information.

Photo Retouching

Everyone wants to look there best in photos! Don’t let a little pimple, or bad lighting keep you from using a photo. We can fix it for you! Cost of Service: The cost of this service varies. Small touchups such as tonal adjustments, removing blemishes, whitening teeth, etc are $5. Larger jobs like color changes, object removal, etc vary depending on the difficulty of the job.
