PiP: the Gran Tag
omg, I can’t believe Christmas is almost here and I’m STILL not done with my Grans book! Now the mad dash is on and I am having a hard time getting my brain to give me the steps to create all the things I wanted to include!
Yesterday I accomplished a bookmark/memoir tag…
It will fit inside a pocket in Grans Bday book, and she can use it, or just look at it. LOL…
I wanted to include something of Pepaw in the book, because I know she misses him dearly. So I opted for the bookmark. It is made on a LARGE size tag (6 1/4 x 3 1/8).
I printed their photo out on a vellum sheet
The next step was picking all the supplies. I wanted to kind of coordinate with her bday book, BUT be more of a stand alone piece…
I chose browns incase she actually USES it, it will help hide dirt. The color pop in the flowers will tie it all together. Next up was inking the tag. I went with some Distress and SU! Colors, and then misted with Perfect Pearls…
And then, just incase it all fell apart, I cuted up the tag a bit with some stamps. Just incase, kwim?
The next steps were cutting the trim, and then created the mat that the vellum would be glued onto.
I used a HOT GLUE GUN for the first time in my life. Holy crackers, what a mess that shit is! I had no idea it would turn into sticky silly string snot if I wasn’t quick enough with it. I ended up with glue all over my clothes, my ear, my EYEBROW! BAH! lol!
The vellum I overlapped the sides of the mat and adhered it in THE BACK so the actual pic of them would be lifted OFF the mat, and then I adhered the mat to the tag and added the embellies… with … more… painful…MESS! hahah!
